Charity Golf Day making a difference for Cahoots

Whether you’re an expert golfer or just a good sport, we have an excellent excuse to get you back on the green.

For another year in a row, Cahoots is hosting a Charity Golf Day at the beautiful Joondalup Resort, so that we can continue to support children living with a disability or an exceptional challenge.

While the event is technically called a ‘Golf Day’ the fun won’t just be about golf. We’ll have heaps of games on holes, a live auction as well as a silent auction, and heaps of other prizes to win.

Not just for the keen golfer, our Charity Golf Day is all about raising funds for children so it’s all good if your skills aren’t up to par.

Just take it from last year’s First Place winner Managing Director of The Digital Broker, Aaron Kanters.

“This was our first Cahoots Charity Golf Day, and it was a great day out to support a great cause,” he said.

“I encourage people to get outside and have a hit even if you can’t play, as raising money through having fun is the least we can do.”

Introducing our Platinum Sponsor – Castledex

This years’ Platinum Sponsor, Castledex General Manager, Benjamin Martin told Cahoots that he was excited for another year on the Joondalup Resort green to support Cahoots.

“We attended the event last year, any excuse to get out on the golf course and have a good afternoon.

“I hadn’t really heard of Cahoots prior to the event but listening to the presenter and the message that she was talking about was really powerful… and I think it just sits with our values as a business.

“So, one of our values is family, and that doesn’t just mean your internal family but the wider work family and then community,” he said.

Castledex had opened the discussion about which charity to support in 2023 to all their staff and Cahoots was an obvious choice.

“We opened up the voting to all 60 of our staff to see what we wanted to support for the next 18 months in terms of charities, and we gave them information about charities that we’d supported in the past.”

“A lot of it was around supporting people with disability and giving them opportunities to do things so the committee met, and we decided to support Cahoots. So, excited to do it,” he explained.

Ben described how excited he was for this years Golf Day and is encouraging other teams to challenge Castledex on the course.

“I’m open to side bets on the day. If anybody is interested in taking a bet against me and Bruce and our team haha” he said.

CEO David Armstrong

Cahoots CEO, David Armstrong is also excited to welcome our esteemed sponsors and teams on to the Joondalup green.

“Participation in our 2023 Charity Golf Day helps over 320 families,” he said.

“All funds raised will go towards helping financially disadvantaged children and families access our services.

“I thank all our sponsors who are listed in the program and our auction prize donors for believing in us and in the work we do to help others in our community.

“The Golf Day is all about having a laugh, networking and coming together to help those less fortunate.”

Help us, help others

No matter how small, your contribution goes towards helping Cahoots lower the costs for families using our services. Whilst we are NDIS funded, there is often a shortfall between the funding and the cost of our activities, so your donations mean families can still send their loved ones to our camps and programs.

For many, Cahoots is a life changing experience for both the participants who grow, learn and enjoy themselves, but it also provides respite to parents and families from the demands of full time care. Anything you can spare is greatly appreciated.
